Last summer I travelled from Vienna to London and further to Plymouth. By Night Train (www.nightjet.com) from Vienna to Cologne, then by ICE to Brussels, and from there by Eurostar through the tunnel to London.
In the winter, this route is more popular in the other direction: from England to the ski slopes in Austria:
